Miller Motorsports Park is kicking off their 2014 racing season in style on Saturday, April 26, 2014, with an action-packed day of racing and free admission for everyone!
The day will feature six different kinds of racing, with something for everyone, plus a car show, free hot dogs and drinks (while supplies last) and free zip line rides.
The Utah Region of the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) will hold Round 2 of their 2014 championship on the 2.2-mile West Course of the main road racing track, while the Utah Sport Bike Association (UtahSBA) will contest Round 1 of their 2014 Vortex Masters of the Mountains championship on the 2.18-mile East Course. During the lunch hour and at the end of the day (if time permits), there will be Utah motocross demonstrations held on the 1.1-mile motocross course located in the infield of the East Course.
At the Miller Kart Track, the Utah Kart Championship will hold Round 1 of their 2014 title chase, while the 1.0-mile Off Road Short Course will play host to the first-ever Edge Powersports UTV Challenge off-road races. On the Midway, the Utah Region of the Sports Car Club of America will have a sports car autocross event throughout the day. In addition, Utah Car Czar will host a car show in the East Paddock. Registration for the car show is available online now at www.UtahCarCzar.com/register.
Gates will open at 8:00 a.m. and racing action will take place until 5:00 p.m. All spectators will be admitted free of charge, with free hot dogs and drinks available from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. (while supplies last). Free zip line rides will be available all day (minimum height 42 inches; kids under 8 must be accompanied by an adult).
Unfortunately, it looks like Mother Nature is not going to be terribly cooperative with us tomorrow. The forecast calls for rain, and it will affect some of our activities. The NASA Utah, Vortex Masters of the Mountains, SCCA Utah Region Autocross and Utah Kart Championship events will run rain or shine (karts will not run if the rain is torrential). The UTV races and motocross demos have had to be canceled. Edge Motorsports (Edge Powersports) will offer UTV ride-and-drives on the Rock-Crawling Course instead. Zip line rides will be weather-dependent; if we can run them, we will. Free hot dogs and drinks (while supplies last) are still available, and admission is still free for everyone. We’ll be here, so come join us!
