Utah Kart Championship

Miller Motorsports Park hosts a kart racing championship on its state-of-the-art, 0.9-mile karting circuit. The Utah Karting Championship (UKC) is a 14-race series that runs from March through October.

Karting is the most cost-effective form of four-wheeled racing available, providing more bang for the buck than any other form of racing. It is the perfect starting point for those seeking an amateur or professional automobile racing career, regardless of age, although many participants spend a lifetime happily racing karts.

Miller Motorsports Park hosts a kart racing championship on its state-of-the-art, 0.9-mile karting circuit. The Utah Karting Championship (UKC) is a 14-race series that runs from March through October. The championship has 13 classes, based on age and engine size/type. Ages range from five to 65, and the karts can range in top speed from 25 to 95 mph, depending on class. Racers will be competing for trophies and points in their respective classes towards the overall series championship.

Getting the season started

New Driver Orientation

For those of you who are new this season or have children just starting this year please remember that you are required to attend a New Driver Orientation class.

We are working on scheduling the first round of classes and will have information posted here soon.

We are very excited about the 2012 Race Season and would like to officially announce the staff that will be working with you this year.

Event Structure—Each UKC race is a one-day event, held on Saturdays.

Race day consists of one of two structures: two practice sessions, two heat races and a feature race; or two practice sessions, a qualifying session, a heat race and a feature race. Every race day will include a mandatory driver’s briefing. Session and race times will vary based on which track configuration is used.

All participants must register at the Miller Motorsports Park Ticket/Box Office upon arrival. Registration will be open from 7:00 a.m. until noon. Every participant must submit a completed Tech Form prior to driving on the track. On-track action starts at 8:00 a.m. and will end by 5:00 p.m. A lunch session is scheduled each day, and trophy ceremonies follow the racing at the end of each day.

All participants must register at the Miller Motorsports Park Ticket/Box Office upon arrival.

New drivers must attend a free Driver Orientation to Karting class

All new drivers and/or drivers who have not competed in a kart racing event during the prior calendar year will be required to attend a Driver Orientation to Karting class provided at no charge by Miller Motorsports Park.

Please call 435-277-7200 for class dates and times. Once this class has been completed, the driver will be required to start at the back of each grid for at least three race event weekends.

The driver's ability will be evaluated by the Race Director and the officials. Once this has been completed, the driver may request that his/her rookie status be dropped. All drivers who have rookie status will have an orange number panel on the rear of the kart at all times (practice and race). This also applies to Test-and-Tune sessions.

Drivers with Experience:
The Race Director has the ability to waive Rookie Status based on proof of participation.

Any driver wishing to compete in a Miller Motorsports Park event who has competed in a local, regional or national event (e.g., CSC, SKUSA, Gatorz) during the prior calendar year will need to provide proof of participation (for example: printed results from mylaps.com). It will be the driver's responsibility to provide the documents to the Race Director. The Race Director has the ability to waive Rookie Status based on proof of participation.

Test-and-Tune: All UKC events will include an optional test-and-tune day on the Friday preceding each race day.

Test-and-tune sessions will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will conclude at sunset, and will use whatever track configuration will be utilized for racing that weekend. Additional test-and-tune days will be available; dates will be posted in the future and can be accessed via a link on this panel.

Our Test and Tune program will prepare you for competitive kart events. Bring your own kart for test sessions – it’s great practice at a great value. There are special rates for members, but it’s open to everyone.

If you own your own kart, come out and use the track for an extremely affordable daily fee.
