Local Supermoto Program Cancelled

  • February 02, 2010
TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH —

Due to lack of participation and economic concerns, Miller Motorsports Park has decided to discontinue the Utah Supermoto Championship.

The championship has been a regular part of the track’s local racing menu since it opened in 2006.

“Unfortunately, not as many racers or sponsors turned out to support the series as we had hoped, and we have not been able to find a way to fund the series to make it profitable,” said John Larson, Senior Vice President and General Manager. “It is very disappointing, but we must face economic realities if we are to continue to build Miller Motorsports Park into the future.”

Miller Motorsports Park’s other local racing series – the Miller Park Racing Association, the Plaza Cycle Masters of the Mountains Series, the Icebreaker Kart Championship and the Utah Kart Championship – will continue as in years past. A new championship, Speedway Karting and Quarter-Midgets, is being added to the lineup for 2010.
